I am enjoying reading your blog. You will be interested to know that people are now starting to go to several grocery stores to get the best prices again. I peruse the grocery ads every Wednesday and make a list of what is on sale, where. When we were first married, 45 years ago, we used to buy only what was on sale. We are starting to do that again.
I am wondering if you see a lot of people doing handwork, like knitting, crocheting, hand sewing, etc. Do you see a lot of old sewing machines? I like old sewing machines and have several treadle and handcranked models. I've even converted some old electric machines to handcranks for kids to use--much better than a child's machine; they never sew very well.

Barbara, thanks for the comments! I am not surprised that folks are comparison shopping more given the tremendous upheaval in the economy these days. Frugality is more important for more people than ever, but many don't have a clue how to be frugal in their own lives. This is one of the focus areas of this blog, given that Ukraine has such a lower standard of living and far lower wages to contend with.
I haven't seen much in the way of hand work other than with individuals. My wife, an anesthesiologist, gets busy each year and knits a few sweaters, for instance, as presents for family and close friends. I had a medical procedure in a clinic run by one of her best friends. The friend was wearing an incredibly beautiful sweater under her lab coat, and I complimented her on it. She said it had been a gift made by my wife! At the same time, I have seen few decent sewing machines here. Most in the stores seem to be Brother or the equivalent, which I understand are rather basic and not all that good.
