An *oral* temperature of 37 degrees C. is not a cause for fainting, but an *axillary* temperature of 37 degrees C. will furrow an Eastern European brow with concern! (I learned fairly quickly not only to convert from Fahrenheit to Centigrade, but also to compensate for the difference between an oral reading and one obtained via the armpit...)

That is indeed interesting. I'll look into the difference--which should be simple enough, since all I need do is ask my wife. Being married to a doctor has its compensations...
